Renmei Membership details
Being a member of the NZIR is simple and undemanding, there are however expectations of behaviour, the same as you would expect as you were in the dojo. As people following the way of Bushido, we should all behave respectfully towards one another. Please be a good model for visitors to this site and to the people interested in our art.
The NZIR insists on these basic guidelines:
- Do not post inappropriate articles or weblinks
- Do not criticise other NZIR members or their dojos. If you have an issue with a member or a dojo, please submit your concern to the administrator of the renmei or to their sensei.
- Members who consistently breach guidelines will have their membership revoked
- Be nice
affiliation to the NZIR is 100% free
If you would like your dojo to be part of the NZIR, please contact the administrator and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please understand that it is important for us to know who you are and to be confident of your legitimacy as this is necessary for our shared purpose and is beneficial to everyone in the long run. We all understand that the criteria for legitimate dojos must be more relaxed than in Japan. In New Zealand, it is impossible to expect that sensei will have a menkyo kaiden or 6th dan grade or over. As such, if you have learnt your art as part of an established lineage and are teaching in New Zealand with the knowledge of your sensei, then this is an acceptable measure of legitimacy. The will be exceptions, so if you feel you are a legitimate dojo under other criteria, please get in touch and we can talk about it together.
Send your details of:
